Very soon, applying for change of land use (CLU), building and layout plans will be a mouse click away. The urban development department will launch LBPAS, an online building plan approval system, on June 11, Urban Development Minister UT Khader said.
The minister told reporters here on June 4 that the system will be launched by chief minister HD Kumaraswamy in VidhanSoudha, Bengaluru.
“It is a first of its kind online system which is being introduced by the state. The system will help people in obtaining permissions without any hassles. LBPAS ensures that verification of applications is done in a more faster and optimal manner by the utilization of zonal regulations and master plan through CAD based software. Information collected is verified with minimal manual involvement and utilizing data from other governmental automation systems,” Khader said.
He added that transparency and predictable service levels are ensured through the integrated workflow. Authenticity of the issued certificate is made tamper-proof through digital signature.
Citizens need not visit offices to submit application. Applicants need not apply for other permits and approvals separately. While payment can be made online, applicants also can track the status of the application online.
Reduced manual effort in scrutiny of drawings, reduced errors in verification of applications, reduced processing time, enhanced transparency and reduced delay in the process help in providing better service to society, Khader said.
